I have spent the last 35 plus years listening to thousands of variations on these words. What the people who are saying these words really mean to say is this:

“I have the time, I am just choosing to spend in doing something else that I feel is more important to me and I will benefit more from than building my financial future with you” J

Perhaps not exactly those words, but close. It is your choice, in almost all cases; it comes down to you choosing when and where you are going to invest your time. I use the word invest when it comes to your time because that is how I treat time, something that you invest and should expect a return on, just the same attitude you have with your money.

What return are you getting on your time now? A year from now, what benefit can you point to and say, the last year was worth it because I accomplished this goal and that objective.

A year from today, there will be people who decided that what is available here was worth them investing their time in. I know they will be happy they did.
